PARMER COUNTY, Texas — Timothy James Holst, 59, of Rowley, Iowa, has died following a fatal three-vehicle collision in Parmer County, Texas, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

The crash occurred at approximately 2 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 86 and State Highway 214, south of Friona. According to preliminary information from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision involved a 2020 Freightliner truck tractor, a 2019 Mack truck tractor and a 2015 Ford Expedition.

What Happened in the Parmer County Crash

Investigators said the Ford Expedition, driven by 30-year-old Shayanne Marie Clover of Garden City, Kansas, was traveling east on SH 86. A 2019 Mack truck driven by 51-year-old Jose Omar Cano of Olton, Texas, was traveling south on SH 214, while Holst was driving a 2020 Freightliner northbound on the same highway.

According to the preliminary investigation, the Ford failed to yield at the intersection and struck the Mack truck. The impact sent the Mack into the northbound lane, where it collided with Holst’s Freightliner. The Mack’s semi-trailer detached during the collision and came to rest on top of the Freightliner.
