Power outages can disrupt homes, businesses, transportation and essential services across Brisbane, with residents in Nundah and surrounding suburbs relying on Energex for updates when electricity service is interrupted.
The official Energex outage system provides information about unplanned power interruptions, affected areas and estimated restoration times. However, available information does not currently establish a widespread Nundah outage affecting the entire suburb.
Residents experiencing a loss of power should check the latest outage information for their specific street or property because electricity interruptions can be limited to relatively small areas.
What Is Known About the Nundah Power Outage?
Reports of electricity disruption in and around Brisbane can change quickly as Energex receives new outage reports and crews investigate individual faults.
At the time of publication, there is not enough verified information to describe the situation as a confirmed suburb-wide Nundah blackout.
A localized interruption may nevertheless affect individual streets, buildings or groups of customers even when no large-scale outage has been publicly identified.
Energex Outage Information
Energex operates the official outage finder for electricity customers across southeast Queensland.
The system allows residents to check unplanned outages and, where information is available, view affected areas and estimated restoration times.
Energex also provides a text-based outage view for customers who want to check reported interruptions without relying on the interactive map.
Outage information can change as crews identify faults, assess damaged equipment and restore individual sections of the network.
Why Power Outages Happen
Electricity interruptions can occur for many reasons.
Equipment faults, damaged power infrastructure, severe weather, vegetation, vehicle incidents and other unexpected events can interrupt electricity supplies.
Planned maintenance can also temporarily disconnect customers from the network.
The cause of any particular Nundah interruption should not be stated unless Energex or another authoritative source confirms it.
Residents Should Check Their Specific Location
A reported outage elsewhere in Brisbane does not necessarily mean that every Nundah property is without electricity.
Customers who have lost power should first check whether neighbouring properties are also affected. If the interruption appears widespread, Energex’s outage information can provide additional details.
Residents should continue checking for updated restoration estimates because the initial estimated time can change once crews determine the nature and extent of a fault.
What to Do During a Power Outage
Residents should stay away from fallen or damaged power lines and report dangerous electrical hazards immediately.
Energex advises customers to check their street and use its outage finder when a wider interruption is suspected.
Households should also take reasonable precautions with refrigerators, freezers, medical equipment and other essential electrical devices during prolonged outages.
Anyone who relies on electrically powered medical equipment should have an appropriate emergency plan and alternative power arrangements.
Nundah and Brisbane Outage Updates
Brisbane City Council’s emergency dashboard incorporates outage information from Energex for incidents within the Brisbane City local government area.
The council notes that its outage information is intended as a general indication of current activity and that the figures are updated periodically.
This means residents should use the latest available Energex information for specific outage and restoration details.

No Confirmed Nundah-Wide Blackout
At present, available information does not establish that the entire Nundah suburb is without electricity.
Individual customers may still be experiencing outages that have not yet appeared as a larger public incident.
Residents should therefore check their address or street through Energex’s latest outage information rather than relying on generalized social-media reports.
Restoration Updates
Energex crews prioritize safety while investigating and repairing electricity faults.
Restoration times depend on the location and nature of the problem. If damaged infrastructure is involved, crews may need to make the area safe before electricity can be restored.
Further information may become available as the utility updates its outage system and identifies the cause of any reported interruption.
