TROIS-RIVIÈRES, Québec — Reports claiming that a woman named Jessy Bernier has died following a tragic accident in or around Trois-Rivières are circulating online, prompting searches for an obituary, cause of death and funeral information.
However, as of September 24, 2026, the reported death has not been independently confirmed through an authoritative obituary, police announcement, family statement or established Québec news report located during the latest review.
No reliable source reviewed establishes Jessy Bernier’s age, exact date of death, the location or type of accident, or whether police investigated a fatal collision involving a woman by that name.
The lack of confirmation is particularly important because searches reveal multiple people named Jessy Bernier in Québec and elsewhere, making it unsafe to attach photographs, employment records or family information to the reported deceased without stronger identification.
For now, both the death and accident claims should remain described as reported but unconfirmed.
Is Jessy Bernier’s Death Confirmed?
No authoritative confirmation was located during the latest review.
Searches for recent Québec and Trois-Rivières death notices did not produce a matching funeral-home obituary confirming the death of a Jessy Bernier following a September 2026 accident.
Current searches of established Québec accident reporting likewise did not reveal a recent fatal Trois-Rivières collision identifying a victim by that name.
The Service de police de Trois-Rivières is the municipal law-enforcement agency responsible for the city and operates 24 hours a day from its headquarters on boulevard des Forges.
No current public police information reviewed linked Jessy Bernier to a fatal accident.
That does not conclusively prove that no private death occurred. Families may delay an obituary, and not every traffic death is immediately identified publicly.
It does mean there is not enough evidence to publish the claim as established fact.

What Happened to Jessy Bernier?
At present, there is no reliable public account explaining what allegedly happened.
The circulating wording describes a tragic accident, but no authoritative source reviewed establishes whether that means:
- a motor-vehicle collision,
- pedestrian accident,
- recreational accident,
- workplace incident,
- or another event.
No exact road, intersection, municipality or accident date has been reliably identified.
That distinction matters because simply repeating “accident” in multiple obituary-style posts does not independently verify that an accident actually caused a person’s death.
Jessy Bernier Cause of Death
Jessy Bernier’s cause of death has not been officially established in the information reviewed.
There is currently no police, medical or funeral-home source confirming that she died because of injuries sustained in an accident.
Accordingly, there is no factual basis to provide details such as:
- traumatic injuries,
- a collision mechanism,
- whether another vehicle was involved,
- whether she died at the scene or hospital,
- or what authorities determined caused the incident.
Those details should remain unpublished until a credible primary source provides them.
No Matching Recent Trois-Rivières Fatal Accident Identified
Recent established reporting from Trois-Rivières and the wider Mauricie region does contain fatal and serious accidents, but none reviewed identifies Jessy Bernier.
For example, recent regional reporting documented the September 10 death of 18-year-old Miguel Mequish after a collision on Route 155 between Saint-Roch-de-Mékinac and Shawinigan. His family and police publicly discussed the circumstances, including fatigue as a possible factor.
Another recent case involved a pedestrian in his 70s who died after being struck by a vehicle in Saint-Marc-des-Carrières.
Those incidents demonstrate the type of specific police and local-news documentation normally available when a fatal traffic collision has been publicly confirmed.
Neither case concerns Jessy Bernier.
Significant Risk of Mistaken Identity
Search results show that Jessy Bernier is not a unique name.
A Québec photographer named Jessy Bernier has an active professional website specializing in photography.
That photographer was also credited for commercial photography in newly published Québec material during May 2026, including photography for Hôtel Château Laurier Québec and restaurant coverage.
Another business in Saint-Pamphile, Québec, currently lists a Jessy Bernier among its shipping employees.
There is no evidence establishing that either person is the woman referred to in the circulating Trois-Rivières death claim.
Photographs, occupations or biographies belonging to these individuals should therefore not be attached to an obituary story unless identity is independently established.
A Trois-Rivières Connection Does Not Establish Identity
The professional photographer named Jessy Bernier has also been credited on a 2025 Trois-Rivières commercial design project, which could cause search engines to associate that name with the city.
However, a photo credit for a project in Trois-Rivières does not establish that the photographer lived there or that the current death report concerns that individual.
This is precisely why an obituary should not be assembled from unrelated search results sharing the same name.
No Verified Age or Date of Birth
No authoritative source connected to the current claim provides Jessy Bernier’s age or date of birth.
Older Québec and New Brunswick records mentioning people named Jessy Bernier also appear in search results, but they relate to different individuals or family members.
For example, historical obituary records include people who had relatives named Jessy Bernier, but those notices date back many years and provide no evidence about the current reported death.
Using those records to construct a biography would risk combining unrelated families.
Jessy Bernier Family Information
No verified family information connected with the reported death was located.
There is currently no reliable basis to identify:
- parents,
- spouse or partner,
- children,
- siblings,
- grandparents,
- or other relatives.
Although the headline says a Trois-Rivières family is mourning, no directly accessible family announcement establishing those relationships was located.
Until relatives speak publicly or an obituary is issued, personal family details should remain private rather than guessed from people-search results.
Funeral and Memorial Arrangements
No verified funeral arrangements have been published in the authoritative sources reviewed.
There is currently no confirmed:
- visitation,
- funeral service,
- celebration of life,
- funeral home,
- burial location,
- memorial fundraiser,
- or charity designated for donations.
If the reported death is confirmed, these details may appear later through a Québec funeral provider or direct family announcement.
Trois-Rivières Police Contact Information
The Service de police de Trois-Rivières has jurisdiction over the city and provides round-the-clock police services.
The City’s official contact page lists police headquarters at:
2250 boulevard des Forges
Trois-Rivières, Québec
The department’s general number is 819-691-2929, while emergencies should be reported through 911.
The City also maintains dedicated media contacts for recent police events.
No current public information reviewed through those official channels identified Jessy Bernier as the victim of a fatal accident.
Why Obituary Reports Require Strong Confirmation
Death reports can spread quickly, particularly when social-media condolences are copied by obituary-style websites.
Multiple sites repeating the same statement do not necessarily represent multiple independent sources.
Reliable confirmation ordinarily comes from at least one of the following:
- immediate family,
- a funeral home,
- police,
- a coroner or medical authority,
- a verified employer or organization,
- or established local journalism citing direct sources.
Those forms of confirmation were not located in this case.
Avoid Sharing an Unverified Photograph
Because several people share the name Jessy Bernier, publishers should be especially cautious with photographs.
Using an image from the photographer’s professional page, a social-media profile or another search result without confirmation could falsely identify a living person as deceased.
The same caution applies to employment history and family relationships.
Until a funeral notice or family statement identifies the individual involved, no unrelated Jessy Bernier profile should be presented as belonging to the reported deceased.
Final Update on the Jessy Bernier Death Report
As of September 24, 2026, TributeNews has not independently confirmed the reported death of Jessy Bernier following an accident in Trois-Rivières, Québec.
No matching authoritative source reviewed establishes:
- that Jessy Bernier has died,
- her age,
- the date of death,
- the location of the alleged accident,
- the nature of the accident,
- an official cause of death,
- family information,
- or funeral arrangements.
The Service de police de Trois-Rivières is the municipal agency responsible for policing the city, but no matching public police information was located.
Search results also reveal several different individuals named Jessy Bernier, including a Québec photographer whose work was publicly credited earlier in 2026.
Those people should not be connected with the death report without evidence.
Until a family statement, funeral-home obituary, police report or another authoritative source confirms the death, the most accurate description is that a Jessy Bernier death and accident are being reported, but the claim and surrounding circumstances remain unverified.

At the time of publication, TributeNews had not located a matching funeral-home notice, direct family announcement, police statement, medical finding or established local news report confirming the death or accident.
